Hairdressing bake the veil

A very interesting hairstyle.
The design starts from a piece of veil caught like a little knot on the side.

Tousled waves hairstyle

Ditch the curling iron, and instead spritz your hair with a setting spray (if hair is thick or wavy) or thickening spray (if it's fine). Dry it until it's only slightly damp, then part your hair in the middle all the way back to the nape of your neck.

Gather one of the two sections of hair at ear level, twirl it around on itself to form a loose bun, and pin it behind your ear. Repeat on the other side. Blast your whole head with a diffuser for five minutes, leave the buns in for another 10 to 15 minutes, then take them out and shake everything out with your fingers.

Wedding hairstyles with bangs

Have you decided how you will wear your hairstyle for your big day? This decision is not something you should be leaving to the last minute.

Nothing panics a bride more than a bad hair day. Plan ahead and practice doing your hair - if you are doing it yourself. If you want professional assistance, book a trial run with your stylist. Bring in photos of hairstyles you like so that your stylist has an idea of what you want.

A great idea for any wedding hairstyle is to wear bangs. The gentle side-swept bang is a great addition to any updo, partial updo or down-do hairstyle. Bangs tend to soften any hairstyle, and add a certain romantic feature to them.

Hairstyles - pay attention to style factors

by Louise Jones

Your hairdo will reflect who you are and what you think of yourselves. Therefore it is just one of the important things you should consider in building your image.

Making a decision to follow the same hairstyle that your favorite celebrity is wearing might be frustrating. Always remember that your hairstyle must suit your face and personality. So, before you take that drastic measure and cut your hair ten inches, change your hair color to sneaky salmon, or start to loc your hair think over it twice.

Hairstyle is based on several factors. A growing number of men and women both are concerned about how their total looks. They are concerned about every factor that rules their overall appearance and so they go to great lengths to get it to look a certain way. There are people simply do not other about these different and important factors while there are still others who actually have proper knowledge about the relation of the different hairstyles and their looks. So the key to getting a good hairstyle is to concentrate on all the factors that directly and indirectly govern your hairstyle.

The different factors are your sex, age, profession, climate of the place, occasion and your hair quality, length, texture and color. Hairstyle changes with your age. You cannot follow the same hairstyles of 20's in your 70's. There are different hairstyles for different age people. Next there are different hairstyles for men and women. There are also hairstyles that can be followed by both the sex. It depends on you what you follow. Your profession is also a very important factor when choosing your hairstyle. Surely enough, a funky hairstyle will not suit your "corporate" profession. Make yourself outstanding with your right choice of hairstyle. There are some styles that goes well with the certain climate while others do not. While many would think how a climate can affect a hairstyle- it is not something weird that I am writing here but it do happens. Let me explain it to you- your hair swells and expands when it is wet. It behaves in the same way in a humid climate too, where the air is full of moisture. Humidity makes hair fluffy and, if your hair is prone to curling, it will cause frizz. There are different hairstyles for different events. Hair do for wedding will obviously look out of place in an office party.

Lastly is your hair with which the style goes. For a particular hairstyle every point like quality, length, texture and color are considered to make it successful. If you are among those who give priority to hairstyling then it will be good for you to consult with a trained, professional stylist. There is a lot of difference between hair cutting and hair styling. You will come across a lot of people out there who cut hair and are very good at it, but not all of them can tell you the right style for your hair type and lifestyle.

The style must suit your physique, emphasize your good features and at the same time hide your weak ones.

Here are some ideas for different types of hair:

1. Wedding hairdos should emphasize your neck. Try a simple French twist or go for an elegant group of ringlets.

6. Brides with short hair can benefit from thick and long wedding day hairstyles. There is a wide variety of hair extensions and clip-on hairpieces in various colors and styles to add chic to your hair.

7. There are also various options for short hair, from sleek to curly styles. Hair clips, tiaras, and decorative bobby pins all look dazzling when you wear them with short hair.

Comfortable Wedding Attire for the Bride

by Bridget Mora

You want to look your best on your wedding day. That is not in question. And yet, the type of attire that brides usually wear can often be as uncomfortable as they are beautiful. Is it possible to find wedding attire that is both gorgeous and comfortable enough to happily wear all day? Yes!

The wedding gown is the most important part of the bridal ensemble, and this is the one piece that will play the biggest role in your comfort level throughout the day. I remember reading that when Melania Knauss married Donald Trump, her couture wedding gown weighed something like fifty pounds! Can you imagine what it would be like to drag a fifty pound dress around on your body for an entire day? This just serves to illustrate one of the first principles when shopping for a comfy wedding gown: go for one that is lightweight. A gown can be slender and wispy, made from a few yards of chiffon. But you can also have a full and traditional dress that is light, as long as you choose your materials carefully. The lightest options for a full skirt are tulle, organza, and organdy. Satin, especially a polyester satin, will weigh you down the most.

The cut of the bridal gown is another factor in how it will feel to wear. If comfort is a priority for you, avoid a strapless gown which requires a very snug fit to stay up. You would be amazed at the difference it can make to add a little pair of spaghetti straps to a strapless gown. With your shoulders helping to support the dress, it no longer has to fit so snugly. This is not to say that the dress needs to look loose or baggy. A wedding dress with straps can look like it fits as close to the body as a strapless dress, but you will be able to take a deep breath.

What goes on under the gown also matters. If the gown you have chosen comes with a massive petticoat built in, you can always ask your seamstress to remove some of the layers of netting, or even the entire crinoline. When your preference is to keep the crinoline, take a look at how it is made; it should be lined with a soft fabric to prevent the itchy netting from scratching your legs all day.

The accessories that you select will also play a big role in your level of comfort on your wedding day. Far and away the biggest difference maker will be your shoes. Yes, those towering designer stilettos are fabulous, but do you really think that your feet will thank you for choosing them? Especially by the end of the day, you want to be certain that your feet will still be feeling good enough to dance all night. What good does it do you to have gorgeous shoes if they kill your feet so much that you have to spend half the night sitting down or take them off? A better option is to find a really pretty pair of dressy flats or even a pair of ballet slippers. If you simply must wear high heels, buy them a little bit loose, and wear an insert in them for the ceremony; as your feet swell during the reception, you can remove the insert to give you more space.

Even things like your hairstyle and choosing custom bridal jewelry will affect your comfort. Bridal jewelry that is custom made to your specifications can be sized to fit you just right so that you will not be bothered by a too-tight necklace or bracelet digging into your skin. As for your hairstyle, if you are considering wearing all of your hair up, be sure to try out the style for an entire day at some point before the wedding. Brides who have a lot of long heavy hair may find that having it all piled up on top of their heads can actually cause headaches, as can styles that are pulled too tightly. A half up style may be more comfortable for your wedding.

With these tips in mind, you will find it easier to find the bridal gown, accessories, and even the hairstyle that will maximize your comfort. After all, when you feel great, you will look your most beautiful!

Tipping at Your Wedding

by Jason Hennessey

So your wedding is just around the corner and your mind is everywhere. From planning to budgetary considerations to guest invitations to gifts and wedding favors, all this are all yours to handle. But you can always enlist the services of a professional wedding planner to help you hack through some of the stuff. Your wedding definitely involves a lot of people and at some point in time you will have to show some kind of gratitude or thank you to those whose services are invaluable to the success of the day. But to whom do you tip and to whom do you not?

Tipping is a common wedding practice and tips are a necessary priority in your budgetary allocations. Tipping is most common when you have chosen to have a private company be in charge of reception conveniences like catering, parking for vehicles, music and entertainment and the like, or when you are using hotel facilities should you choose to hold the reception in a hotel. Though tipping is an act of absolute voluntary, it is deeply embedded in wedding ceremony culture that wedding vendors more often than not expecting it.

But in your wedding the cardinal rule is that you call the shots. It is only you who can decide whether or not to tip or not. And you also get to choose who to tip and who not to. Remember to ascertain whether the wedding company is including vendor charges in the agreement you sign for their services. This is to guard against double tipping and thus stretching your budget. And always give your tips at the conclusion of the reception. This will give you a clear view of who did what and then you can tip them accordingly and proportionately. Below are some the people that you consider for tipping on your big day.

The music DJ plays an important part in the entertainment of your guests. You tip the DJ if he is an employee of a company providing for the entertainment. But if he is the owner there is no need because you pay him the contractual fee. Other people that you consider for tipping are bartenders, hair makeup and stylists, restroom attendants, waiting staff, drivers, and valet parking attendants among others. Some people go as far as tipping photographers and wedding planners and coordinators.

These are people that we tend to look down upon but the truth of the matter is that without them you can say goodbye to that perfect wedding that you have always envisioned. But no one should hold you hostage on who to tip and the amount to give. Carefully put tips in envelopes for each individual and have them delivered personally to them. Evaluate the services of each of them and the amount of cash you give to them should correspond to the work that you see them do. Tipping should be a discreet voluntary act and you should never take it as a debt you owe someone, just give it in a warm respectful manner and let it be clear that it is just a way of saying thank you.

Naturally, you have to stay away from them. Otherwise, the hair extensions may have different adverse effects. In fact, a wrong method of application can even damage your actual hair permanently. So, it's time now to think about it seriously.

Often, people take the help of the hair extension in their wedding days. Of course, this is a brilliant plan to look fabulous on that very romantic day of your life. In fact, people will look at you picture on that day, you will be quite proud of your hair. On the flip side however, you have to pay a lot of money for that. What's worse, if the application is wrong, the extension will do permanent damage on your hair.

Now, there are different types of hair extensions that are available for you in this situation. So, have a look at them. If you are looking to save some money, the bonded hair extensions are the best solution. They are temporary and therefore ideal for your use in one particular day. However, they have the threat of damaging your hair during the removal.

The permanent hair extensions provide an ideal way out of that. However, they are not suitable for everyone. Also, they are very expensive. Another drawback with this type is that you need expert for its application and once you put it on, you don't want to put it off.

The Clip-In hair extensions seem to have stroked the balance. They are not much expensive and at the same time, does not have the threat of damaging the hair. Also, you can use them later. Nevertheless, if you are looking for the clip-ins, you need to make a little bit of research as well.

The cheap and synthetic hair extension will also not be able to give you the variety of style. Often, they are pre designed and you have to adhere to that. Being artificial, they differ from the real hair in texture. Naturally, they are visible. Of course, the real hair extensions, made of actual hair, are preferred in such circumstances.

There are different ways through which the hair can be attached to the scalp. Some of them are clipped in, while others are attached with the help of the glues. However, it is important to find out the extension that matches the color and texture of you hair. For, you can not dye them after application.

Wedding Updos

Great ideas for wedding hairstyles start with the updos. Take a sleek updo and pull out a few strands here and there, maybe curl them and voila--you have a romantic wedding updo.

Selecting the right wedding hairstyle can start with your wedding dress. If your dress is a fancy elaborate dress, you will want to select a hairstyle that isn't fancy and elaborate - so you can offset your look and have balance.

Likewise a very simple wedding dress can have an elaborate updo.

Of course there are no rules when it comes to wedding hairstyles. It is always a good idea to schedule a trial run with your hair stylist several weeks before your big day. During the trial run you can see exactly how your hair will look--and hold up after a whole day of activities.

The trial run allows you to plan and almost eliminates the possibility of a bad hair day. If you are doing your own hair or having a friend do it, then you should still do a trial run. Try your dress with your hairstyle to see if the whole package looks good together.

You can complete your wedding hairstyle by adding some hair accessories. Check out this site for some great ideas.

Styled to perfection - wedding dress solutions

by Mike Joned

Your wedding dress is probably the most important fashion item you will every buy. No pressure to get it right then! Here are a few tips to help you choose the dress of your dreams.
Is it me?

First and foremost is to be true to yourself. Choose something that is really 'you'. Wearing something that does not feel right means you will not feel comfortable in your own skin. And throughout your wedding day, you will need to feel totally at ease in order for you to radiate confidence.

Big bust?

Your groom loves your assets. But he is not marrying them alone! Everyone wants a big bust these days, and many are prepared to go under the knife to get it. But sometimes, you can have too much of a good thing.

If you have a large bust, there are styles that can minimise your assets so they work for you, as opposed to against you. Take the square neckline, for instance. When teamed with supportive straps, the look is perfect for heavy boobs. In fact, this is a shape that flatters most body shapes.

Also consider off the shoulder styles if your boobs are more than ample. However, this look is not so successful if you have broad shoulders, since off the shoulder dresses tend to emphasise width. If your shoulders are a little on the wide side, consider a strapless style instead.

Sweetheart necklines are literally shaped like the top of a heart. This cut accentuates the decolletage and, as such, flatters the wearer.

Scoop shaped necklines suit practically everyone. Particularly successful at minimising the bust, they prove a canny choice if your boobs are hell bent on stealing your limelight.

Flat as the proverbial pancake?

Fear not. If your chest is a tad too flat for your liking, then try a boat neckline. This will work wonders if it incorporates added detail at the shoulders, because such detail will detract the gaze from your chest.

An effective trick to add substance to a flat chest, is to wear a shrug with a fabulous fastening. Exquisite embellishment will add bulk as well as interest.

A halter neck style is also an excellent choice for flat-chested brides. What's more, it is a young, sexy look with more than a hint of glamour.

If you are tall, you might crave the diaphanous look. Statuesque brides look a million dollars in a sheath dress - but not so good if their groom is shorter. Indeed, considering the proportions of your groom is a wise move when it comes to purchasing your wedding dress.

Small but perfectly formed

Petite brides need to be aware of their proportions, and choose their dresses accordingly. Don't go for big style statements if they threaten to overwhelm your form, but opt for details that flatter your figure without stealing the show.

Narrow shoulders do not tend to suit a halter neck, as this style can emphasises the negative.

Bony collarbones? Then a high necked dress can disguise them in an instant. Go for a sheer fabri c, such as lace or chiffon, from the bust upwards. This will take the weight out of the look. Short necks do not tend to suit solid high necklines.

Emphasising the positive and eliminating the negative

Perhaps you are a pilates devotee, and proud of your well toned arms. If you want to emphasise your lack of extraneous flesh, then a strappy design is for you. Strappy gowns work well at less formal beach ceremonies, too.

If you have bingo wings or chunky arms, consider gowns with beautiful sleeve detail (lace is a wonderful choice) or drape a sheer shrug around your shoulders. These draw the attention away from your arms with dramatic results.

Long necks are emphasised by a wide soft scoop neckline that skims the top of the shoulders. If you have a short neck, give yourself extra height with a stunning tiara or a hair style that creates height.

Hawaiian Wedding Dress For a Sunny Wedding

by Mary Dunne

Jane has decided that she wants to have a tropical wedding and has decided to have it on an Hawaiian Island. This is just so exciting being able to have your wedding on a beach in the sunshine just seems like so perfect for me. She's a bit of a crazy girl but also lots of fun she's had so many relationships with different men over years that nobody actually believed that one day she might finally get married, it's hard to believe, but I guess she's had finally found the man that she loves.

I was doing a little of research for her the other day on different types of wedding dress that would suit the occasion. This was going to be a very informal affair. She's not the type of woman that is looking for your traditional type wedding in comparison to some women who just want to go all out and have an extravagant wedding. There are lots of different types of clothing available I suggested that she wears some type of sundress, in, there are many specialized websites that can supply them in cotton fabric, which is much nicer to wear when it is hot. The funny thing is they also have some shirts on offer that were ideal fo the groom. The shirts that we looked at came in the same type of material, and she purchased some matching ones for the groomsmen also. I could just imagine the aloha when the boys put these on.

She had planned to go to Maui, which is a beautiful part of the world and reception is being held at a hotel right on the beachfront. A few days after she had ordered her dress online it arrives, in fact, she decided to order a couple of different dresses and some for her bridesmains because the price was so cheap, and she will be able to wear them while in Hawaii anyway. The size and the length of the woman that she chose to wear on her wedding day was absolutely perfect it had a nice style and a beautiful field to material, and because she is a very petite girl it looked absolutely amazing on her.

By simply not purchasing in the force shop she had seen and deciding then to research online Jane could save a lot of money on her wedding dress. It was particularly stylish and the aloha shirt that is groom will be wearing looked absolutely fabulous once we opened the parcel.

Bridal Headpieces - How to Find the Right Headpiece for your Wedding Veil

by Cori Russell

Anchor your wedding veil with an elegant bridal headpiece, or let its sparkle make a style statement all of its own. Usually attached to your wedding veil, your bridal headpiece can hold it in place for the entire event or allow it to be detached through hooks or snaps. You can also wear your headpiece sans veil for purely aesthetic purposes. Here's what to consider when choosing a bridal headpiece.
Style

When trying on headpieces, try to bring as much of your wedding day ensemble as you can (dress photos, accessories, veil, etc.) to get the best sense of which style complements your look. You never know what will or won't work until you put it all together.

Cost

Bridal headpieces typically cost $20 to $100. Of course, you may find one for less, and you can always pay more.

Headpiece Style Guide

From a wedding tiara to a snood, here's the lingo you'll need to know to get started:

Profile (comb): The profile is an ornamental comb (often featuring flowers, crystals or pearls) that is worn either on the top or side of the head, or underneath your hairstyle. Profiles can be worn with or without a veil and are a great way to accent a sophisticated updo.

Backpiece: A backpiece is a barrette or comb (often decorated with flowers or beads), fastened to the back of the head, to which your veil is then attached.

Tiara: A popular headpiece for brides who want to feel like a princess, wedding tiaras are a jeweled or beaded semi-circle that sits on the top of your head.

Crown: A crown is a full circular headpiece that sits on the top of your head and is usually decorated with stones or beads.

Headband: A headband is a band of fabric that extends from one temple to the other. This classic look can range from simple to elaborate, and is often made of satin, lace, or any fabric to match your dress

Bunwrap: As the name implies, the bunwrap is a circular band that wraps around a bun or updo.

Juliet Cap: A Juliet cap fits at the crown of your head and can be accented with pearls, beading or stones. You can wear a Juliet cap alone or attach your veil to it.

Snood: A snood is a net that encases a bun at the back of your head and can be made from a variety of fabrics and embellishments. You can attach a veil to the bottom of this headpiece.

Wreath (or Garland): Wreaths wrap all the way around your head and often feature organic materials such as flowers, greenery or twigs. This headpiece creates a natural, romantic look.

Summer is the perfect season to spend relaxing and having a good time as often as possible. It is a great way to relive some of life's daily stresses by enjoying the weather whenever you can get away from work or household demands.

Do not waste hours of your summer days and night getting ready with hot curlers in your hair, or having to fuss with messy hairstyling solutions. Many women achieve flawless summer looks without having to work hard or miss out by taking to much time getting ready. By opting for comfortable summer hairstyles that not only look good, but give off the impression that you spent a lot of time getting ready, you will be happy to enjoy the summer with a fast and easy, style-and-go hair-do.

A hair-do that is gaining popularity this summer is the bob. Whether you are sporting a short or longer bob, this look is both comfortable and easy for women in the summer. Give yourself a break from hot curlers and curling irons this summer with this cute and sassy hairstyle. This hairstyle works beautifully with many different hair types and facial structures, and is also an appropriate hairstyle for women of all ages.

If you have medium length to long hair, you will be happy to know that the ponytail is still an extremely popular look for summer this year. Aside from a bob hairstyle, you cannot choose a much simpler way to style your hair than with a ponytail. With the wide assortment of colorful ponytail holders and hair tiebacks made out of different and unique materials, it is great to keep that fun, flirty look with your hair. Some hair bands can be covered with eye-catching gems that help you create several stunning looks without much effort at all.

Another trendy hairstyle for this summer is the fringe cut hairstyle. The fringe is an easy style-and-go choice that is popular with many women who want to let their personality run free. This somewhat feisty haircut is extremely easy to manage and maintain. Spend less time styling your hair and more time enjoying summer activities with this do.

Farrah Fawcett was one of the original women to make the layered and feathered back look famous. She single-handedly influenced millions of women in the 70's to sport her unique hairstyle. This hairstyle remains a popular choice with many women to this day. The layered hair looks great any time of the year, but many women prefer this easy and care-free look during the summer months. This layered look is a simple way to achieve and maintain all summer long.

Another well-liked hairstyle among women during the summer is the crop. This is a great look for women who prefer not to spend much time on their hair at all. A broken-edged crop can make for a dramatic look for most women, and is fairly easy to handle. This is different from a straight-edged crop, as a broken-edged cut follows the contours of your hair, which naturally varies at different points. This creates texturing that is unique to your hair and lends a very lovely style to your locks. Different haircuts are not the only hot trends for women in the summer of 2009. Many women are embracing color, as it has always been important in hairstyles choices. This summer, strawberry blonde, auburn, and rich chocolates tend to be the trend setting colors of the season.

If you want to know what summer hairstyles are hot with celebrities, look through celebrity and fashion magazines to find out who is wearing what trendy hairstyle this summer. There are also many magazines devoted to highlighting trendy hairstyles for women that can give you some great insights and tips on the summer hairstyle that is just right for you.

Consulting with your hairstylist is a great way to get more ideas on fashionable summer hairstyles. Tell your hairstylist that you want a style that looks great but that is easy to maintain, so that you can spend less time in front of the mirror and more time out enjoying yourself this summer. You can also look through a salon's magazines on hairstyles to get ideas the next time you are in a hair salon.

Some of the summer hairstyle choices for women may be new to you, and you may be a little apprehensive about taking the plunge to re-inventing yourself. By summers end, your hair will have begun to grow out and you can go back to your old hairstyle if you wish. Be bold and take a risk on a cute and fun new hairstyle this summer.

Stop letting your hair hold you back from summertime fun because it refuses to be styled in a timely and simple manner. Liberate yourself from hot curlers, curling irons, straighteners, messy hairstyling products, and the fuss and muss of styling your hair this summer with an easy hairstyle. Choose a summer hairstyle that is easy to style and that will look great on the beach or out for a night on the town.

Perfect Wedding Hairstyle Ideas and Tips

by Paul Jones

Your wedding is the most important day of your life and you want to look gorgeous! It is important to spend a few months looking through different hairstyle magazines and online to get as many different hairstyle ideas as you can. I have compiled a few great wedding hairstyle tips and ideas below to help you create the look of your dreams for your upcoming wedding day.

For those brides-to-be out there who have long, flowing hair, the hottest and most popular wedding hairstyle of 2008 is to simply have your hair down and curled slightly at the ends of your hair. This is a very elegant look that is sure to compliment any wedding dress and any face shape. If you are looking for a little something more, inserting small and matching flowers into your hair can create that little something extra to make your style unique.

Although up-dos were once the most popular and traditional way to wear your hair on your wedding day, today is much more natural. Another great look is to have your hair half up and collected at the back with a large flower. This keeps your hair out of your face, your veil in place and leaves the bottom of your hair long and flowing down the back of your beautiful gown.

For those of you with shorter hair length before your wedding there are many different options. There are several hairstyles that can be created by your hairstylist to make it look like you have a stunning up-do with short hair. Also, leaving your hair loose and perhaps wavy is a great look, depending on just how short your hair is.

The brides dress is the main thing to pick out but there are many other things that go along with the bride as well. All brides go and get their hair done up real fancy and beautiful but some brides like to have things in their hair.

Tips for bridal make-up

by Sukhpreet kaur

you have found the groom, decided your wedding dress, it's time for you to decide your wedding look . Make-up is an important aspect of your wedding look. Here are 10 tips that will help you look perfect on your matrimony day.
1. Beauty Regime to be followed before the big day For that perfect glow on the wedding day, you need to consider a few things a few weeks prior to the wedding day. About six weeks before the wedding, you should start a skin and nail care plan. Tell your beautician to give you regular facials and manicures.

Avoid going in sun about 3-4 weeks prior to the wedding. Sunburns and peeling skin shouldn't disrupt your wedding day.

2. Take care of your Body-Mind-Spirit Always remember the importance of Body-Mind-Spirit. What's going on inside you is as important as looking good. We all know that preparing for a wedding is very stressful and if you are not taking proper care of yourself by not sleeping enough or not eating properly, it will definitely reflect on your face! If you are feeling really stressed out before the wedding, consider having a relaxing massage once every week during the month of wedding and also a day before the wedding day. Also, burn some relaxing essential oils around the house to help calm your nerves.

3. Trial Organize a trial around 1-2 months before the wedding, once you have chosen your make-up artist.

Ask the make-up artist to show you a few pictures from magazines that will help you in deciding a look.

Tell her if you have any skin problems or allergies etc or if there are any particular ways you wear your make-up.

If you are wedding is during the day, it is ideal to organize the trial during the day as it will give you a better idea as to how the make-up will look

4. Have pictures your wedding dress and bridesmaid's dresses If you show the make-up artist pictures of your wedding dress and bridesmaids wedding dresses, it will give her / him the idea for designing the perfect look for you.

5. What look to go with The style that you plan to choose for your wedding make-up will ultimately depend on your personal preference, but there are some other factors that you should consider:

The time of the ceremony - A lot depends on the time of the wedding. Is it during day time or in the evening? A subtle, natural look is more suited to a day wedding and a more striking look is suited to an evening one.

Other aspect is the time of the year of the matrimonial. If you are having a Spring/Summer wedding, go for bright, pastel shades in your make-up. For a winter wedding, warm, deeper shades are preferable.

Your skin tones and hair colour -

If you are blond or have a fair skinned, cool tones of grey, blue, soft pink and lilac are ideal for you.

If you are a brunette or olive skinned, warm neutral tones of brown, taupe, burgundy & red will suit you more.

6. Your Face Foundations with yellow undertones work perfectly with flash photography.

Avoid using shimmer highlighters as this look will not look well in photos and give a reflective shine.

Ask your make-up artist to use a bronzing powder, it will warm your skin tone and wll give your face a natural glow.

7. Your Eyes The make-up around your eye-area should be soft and natural with no heavy, dark lines. Use a brow pencil which is a little darker than your hair colour and keep away from heavy, dark shadows.

8. Your Lips Use a lip-liner which is of the same colour as your lipstick and do not use a noticeable or dark lip line, it looks tacky. If you define one area in your make-up, it will look more pleasing. If you want dark and defined eyes, go for a lighter lip shade and if you want bright lips, go for natural, light eyes.

9. Timing Don't forget to ask your make-up artist to arrive a little before time and so that there is enough time to get the job done. As the last thing you want on your wedding day is rush.

10. Last moment touch-ups Remember to ask your mum or one of your friends / sisters to carry a powder compact, tissues and lipstick for touch-ups during the occasion.

Just remember these tips and you will look the most beautiful bride on your wedding day.

Why hire a bridal hair and makeup artist?

by Kristine Crane

This is the day you have dreamed of since you were just a little girl. You have always pictured in your mind how you would look on your wedding day. Now, it is coming time to actually start planning for that wonderful, romantic, "dream come true" of a day. You have finally found Mr. Wonderful, your perfect dress, the perfect place you want to walk down the aisle, the look and feel of the bridesmaids standing by your side, your flowers...but did you think about your hair and makeup? Are you going to leave that last detail to chance? It is time to think about hiring a professional bridal hair and makeup artist.

Why should you hire a professional bridal hair makeup artist for your wedding day?

The answer is quite simple, education, experience, knowledge and the stress-free, convenient environment they create. You want every thing to be perfect on your wedding day and so do they. The last thing you need to stress about is making sure your makeup and hair looks just right. Relax; hire a professional bridal hair and makeup artist that will come to you, which puts more time in your already busy schedule. You will save time and energy and its fun! It is very important that your hair and makeup will look as beautiful and relevant in 20 years as it does on the day of your wedding.

A bridal hair and makeup artist knows how to achieve the trendy styles of today without "dating" your photos, creating a perfect memory of your wedding day for you and your family to enjoy for years to come. Bridal hair and makeup artists use professional products and have the knowledge as to which ones will work with your particular hair or skin type. They are trained to create looks that compliment your dress, the theme of the wedding and your personality.

When choosing a makeup artist, make sure you choose one that has specialized training in what is called "Media Makeup". Media Makeup is the knowledge of what the camera (or photograph) will need for color and definition. Bridal Makeup artists understand how makeup will show up with the flash of the camera or under certain lighting conditions. With this education and skill, bridal makeup artists will insure your makeup is never too much or too little and that your wedding photos will be "picture perfect".

Top hair styling tools - achieve a special look

by stephen hall

You will be amazed at the number of options from hair curlers to flat irons and hair crimpers available to you, as never before to achieve that special looks and effects from night out clubbing with your friends to wedding hairstyles. Although it is really confusing when it comes to selection as almost all hair styling tips mention the use of one or another styling aids or hair styling tools. Moreover, product terminology adds extra level of confusion. To make it clear take the example of any hair styling tools that generates heat to change the shape of your hair is termed as hair setter but when it comes to advertising, the term is most frequently applied to various hot rollers.

Therefore, here are some of the top hairs styling tools that are named for their special type of functions. Starting with flat irons that is the biggest craze among the people of this era looks like a clamp, which generates heat to temporarily straighten hair. A very simple device works well on thin sections of your hair through the closed jaws of the iron. Work from close to the roots to the end of your hair and combs your hair after each pass. Pass the iron slowly but steadily over your hair and never pause or leave the iron in one place. Your hair will stay straight and sleek as long as it is dry. These flat irons are also called hair straighteners and come in a variety of configurations and those lined with a ceramic material are of the best and most affordable quality. Take the example of flat irons from GHD and CHI. They are undoubtedly excellent. They also have variable heat settings, a nice feature to help protect the hair from damage.

Like the hair straightener there is another hair styling tools called hair crimpers that are much the same in appearance and are used in much the same way except that the hair is pressed for a few seconds to put waves in instead of taking them out. Unlike the traditional chair dryers in a salon, a blow dryer of todays is used in concert with a brush or comb that allows you to dry and to shape your hair in different directions. There are literally thousands of blow dryers on the market but it is recommended to buy a blow dryer that has variable temperature settings, so that you can control the temperature that is required for your hair. Curling irons is another hair styling tools that not only add shape to your hair but also add volume. Hot rollers are also the choice of many who want their style to stay "set" for longer periods.

There are few points that are found to be common with all the hair styling tools is that avoid using these thermal styling tools on wet hair as this will damage your hair. It is also recommended to always buy that hair styling tool that has variable temperature settings. Avoid using the high setting as much as possible. Hair care products that protect against thermal damage should be used if you blow dry daily. And lastly never compromise with the quality of the product.

Top Wedding Dress Trends for 2009 and 2010

by Cori Russell

Want to ensure a fashion-forward look for your upcoming 2009 or 2010 wedding? From sleek silhouettes to mini-dresses and tiered gowns, these latest looks for wedding gowns will help you put your best fashion foot forward to get you down the aisle in style.

Sleek Silhouettes

Slim is the silhouette of choice for the modern wedding dress - as sheaths, trumpets, and column wedding dresses ruled the runways. Don´t fret if you´ve always dreamed of donning a billowy ball gown, however, as this traditional style never goes out of style.

Colorful Details
Modern brides are experimenting with color to tie their ensembles into the color scheme. Adding a splash of color to the basic white gown remains popular through colorful sashes and appliqué details, or more dramatically through two-toned wedding gowns with a colored bodice against a white or off-white skirt.

High Hemlines
Not afraid to show a little leg, today´s brides are embracing the tea-length and mini shift dresses that have become de rigueur in nearly every wedding dress designer´s latest collections. The trend makes sense for destination weddings calling for laid back attire and brides opting to don a second dress for dancing the night away at the reception.

Tiered Skirts
Whether chiffon, tulle, organza, or even feathers - layers of fabric are the newest major detail designers are playing with to create soft, yet dramatic gowns. This flowing style is perfect for the bride who is a romantic at heart.

Floaty Fabrics
Dresses weighted down by heavy crepes, matte satins and silks are lightening up to fabrics like taffeta and organza. These airy fabrics are easy to layer and more comfortable for a gown worn for up to 10 hours. And for brides having a summer wedding, donning a lighter fabric will ensure they´re glowing - not sweaty and red-faced - on their wedding day.

One Shoulder
This asymmetrical look is a hot fashion trend that has crossed over into the bridal world to update the basic strapless gown. Carrying a simple, no fuss vibe, the one shoulder gown is a great option for a destination wedding. Bonus points for those blessed with toned limbs, as this neckline shows off the upper arms and shoulders.

Practical Pockets
Having graced gowns for a few seasons, pockets remain hot in 2009. The style lends a casual vibe for relaxed events, and - perhaps best of all - it´s practical too, allowing brides to keep essentials like lip gloss or tissues on hand throughout the day.

Be a Beautiful Bride

by Caroline Husbands

Planning ahead is definitely the key to enjoying your perfect wedding. Unfortunately, all too often, it is the bride who suffers the most stress. Planning a wedding is very exciting but very soon it can become unbelievably nerve-wracking.

Numerous decisions have to be made, including choosing the venue, type of ceremony, flowers, guests and music as well as, most importantly, your perfect wedding dress. On your big day you will be wearing an exquisite dress, your make-up will be perfect and your hair, as well as you, will shine with health and happiness.

To look your absolute best on your big day you should consider making a few changes to your lifestyle right now. Small changes all add up to the perfect you.

Water and Food. This is one of the easiest changes to make. Commit to drinking up to two litres of water per day which will help to cleanse your system, and give you smoother and clearer skin. Secondly, promise yourself that you will watch what you eat. Planning a wedding can be very time-consuming and can mean you grab snacks or miss meals rather than eating well-balanced and healthy meals. If you don't enjoy enough healthy food with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables your skin will look sallow and you could look drawn and tired on your big day which is not a good look.

Lists and Delegation. Divide your wedding plans into stages and write down what needs to be done at each point along the way. By writing it down you will know you haven't forgotten it. Remember, you do not have to do everything yourself. Everyone will be good at sorting different things and will want to help you, but you do need to ask them.

Keep Well-Balanced. If problems do arise try stepping back from the situation a little and taking a few long deep breaths. In the long-run, nothing is ever as bad as it seems at the time and the more relaxed you are the more beautiful you will look. You are, after all, marrying the man of your dreams, and that is the most important thing. Also, don't become a wedding bore. Try to spend some quality time with your fiancé when you don't talk about the wedding at all. Even if it's only one night a week, make it special.

Your Health. If you smoke, then why not take getting married as your ideal opportunity to stop smoking, after all, you don't want fag ash dropping down onto your beautiful new wedding dress or have a coughing fit at the ceremony. Also, try to fit in some regular exercise which will help to keep you healthy and can also be a good form of relaxation.

Finally, ensure you have enough sleep. Sleep is a beauty secret many people overlook but it can heal and rejuvenate and help you look stunning. Have a beautiful wedding! Be a Beautiful Bride!

Wedding Dresses - Let the Groom Have a Say

by Nadi Baruch

Tradition has it in Western cultures that the groom does not see what the bride is wearing until the wedding day. This makes it rather difficult for the groom to have any say at all! The groom will, however, have some idea of the sort of wedding that is being planned; he will know if it's traditional or modern. Time was that the groom didn't have a chance either to see or to say anything about the wedding dress and offer his view on what he wants his beautiful bride to look like on their wedding day.

Today's bride is definitely more concerned about the groom's opinion and tries to balance her decision by including his views in the process to make her wedding dream become a reality. Some brides even allow the groom to go with them when they choose a wedding gown, and listen to his opinion. The options for a wedding dress are endless; some grooms wants to see their bride more conservative, some simple, others sexy, elegant, or even like a Hollywood star. The wedding dress is a very important part of the overall picture where the bride has the main say, but there are other aspects of the wedding where the groom can participate and help out and offer his opinion.

Before going out there to find your perfect wedding gown the best idea is to have a little chat and come up with the decision on how much would you like to spend for your wedding dress as well the budget for the whole wedding. From this point on it will be easier for you and your groom to plan that unforgettable wedding. Just how much do men think that the bride should be paying for that dress? This only becomes an issue if the bride and groom are paying for it. If the brides parents are stumping up the cash, what the heck! The amount also depends on the budget, of course: some folks can just afford more than others, so it's not an easy one to answer. Prices range from a couple hundred US Dollars to a couple thousand and more. The important thing is that the groom has to be happy with how costs are portioned out and it's not unreasonable that more should be spent on the bride than on the groom even in these days of equality.

In these enlightened times, if the groom does, indeed, get a chance to choose the dress with the bride, or at least see some photos, catalogs or visit some websites, then we have to admit that times have changed; the groom will as often as not nowadays want to have some input; after all, the bride will surely want to have a say in what HE is wearing, won't she?

The key to this is to discuss and come to an agreement on style and price BEFORE the bride goes off looking. That way, the marriage will begin as it's meant to go on.

Essential Guidelines To Explore Your Ideas On Bridal Hairstyles!

Do you know how to make your bridal hairstyle exceptionally beautiful?

People say, even highly experienced hairstylists might not be able to offer you something exceptionally perfect for your taste or personality, though they have a great collection of bridal hairstyles for their clients.

But, if you are in search of something new or something no one ever saw or wore on any wedding occasion, then it is not impossible for you to get it, but it becomes quite tough task for you.

Here are certain simple guidelines which can help you to explore your taste and style.

Explore new ideas if you can’t imagine!

If you are unable to make your imagination work, then try to discover fresh ideas of bridal hair styles by referring numerous magazines or websites.

When you find something interesting, try to make a copy of it. However, it is not necessary for you to have a same copy of it. Rather, you can add more changes to it, according to your taste and style.

Try to be creative!

Accessories are one of the best ways to make your bridal hairstyle look spectacular on your wedding day.

Vintage hair combs or bejeweled hair sticks are a good choice for your bridal hairstyle.

So, try to choose your bridal accessories wisely. If you don’t want to spend more money on these accessories, you can use your old ear rings, cuff links, brooch or other jewelry items as your bridal hairstyle accessories.

Try to use flowers to decorate!

Flowers are also one of the greatest ways that can make your bridal hairstyle to look awesome. Keeping your taste and style in consideration, try to choose suitable flowers for decorating your hair.

Follow these simple tips!

Take proper care of your hair, prior to your wedding ceremony. If you have healthy and well-managed hair, then it becomes much easier for you to style your hair.

Try to finalize your bridal hairstyle before finalizing the accessories for your hairstyle. It is also very important for you to check whether the accessories match with your bridal hair style or not. So, try to make a perfect combination.

Always schedule your appointment much in advance with your hairstylist. This is due to the reason that an elegant hairstyle is not done in the last moment and it certainly takes some time to get a gorgeous look.

So, consider all these essential guidelines and make your wedding event a memorable moment in your life.

Beautiful wavy wedding hairstyles

Long, flowing waves make this style, see photo left, ideal for a romantic wedding. Match it with any type of wedding dress for a stunning look.

Texturising layers were added into the very ends of her hair for extra body and movement and lots of body was added through the top section as well as the ends to give Janelle as much movement as she wants. This is a great hairstyle for those with finer hair as it will create more thickness throughout. A look such as this will require regular trims to keep the shape.

How to Style:Apply mousse to damp hair then blow-dry using a medium vent brush, turning your hair under as you go along. Smooth shine the top layers and then lacquer lightly for hold.

Bridal Earrings for the Wedding Day

by Ted Hust

You dream of your big day your entire life and adding final touches to your wedding look is one of those fun decisions you get to make as a bride. There are many accessory options out there from big bold necklaces, chunky, illusion and multiple strand bracelets, but when it comes to earrings - you can't go wrong. Take a few of these ideas to help you decide on your wedding day earring selection.

First consider the color gown you are wearing. With more fashion options to brides, dresses aren't just white any more. Whether you have a white, ivory, pink, or non traditional color bridal gown, choose materials that have the same color tones. If your dress is white, ivory pearls will not match perfectly with your gown, stay true to your colors.

Next consider your gowns embellishments. If your bridal gown has pearls, crystals or rhinestones on it, then pairing it with jewelry that uses those materials is the best way to coordinate your jewelry with your gown. There are many bridal jewelry designers out there that use quality pearls and crystals that will last a lifetime and become a true heirloom.

Once you have determined a color palate and the right materials, finding the right pair of earrings to finish your look is easy. There are a wide variety of styles available to brides. Chandelier earrings, cluster earrings, drop style, stud and chain are all some of the varieties of bridal earrings available on the market. If you love to wear big and bold jewelry, than a chandelier or cluster style earrings would be perfect. These earrings add a dramatic flair to the ears and draw attention to the face. For the bride that loves a simple, classic look there are simpler designs available including drop style, post and tiny earrings that have a small dangle.

There is a non-traditional method of mixing new with old. Most brides do the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue. A great way to incorporate the old with the new and possibly the borrowed, is to take a piece of heirloom jewelry you love from a family member or close friend and incorporate that jewelry into a new piece. Whether you take an older broach from grandmas jewelry drawer and have a jewelry designer take it and make it into a hair piece with some additional gems to spice it up or you transform a pendant from a necklace into a unique new necklace. There are special ways to incorporate your heirloom jewelry into your bridal look.

Lastly, whether you choose a fancy chandelier style earring or a drop style earring, do not pack your jewelry away. While your bridal gown, tiara and veil may have to be packed away after the big day, your jewelry doesn't have to be. Keep your bridal jewelry out and in your jewelry box for safe keeping. When your anniversary or another special occasion come up, that's the perfect time to select that special wedding day jewelry and remind you of your special day.

The Wedding Photographer

by michaelrussell

Your wedding day is one of the milestones in your life that will become a defining point in your personal history. Memories of a wonderful wedding day can last forever. A really good wedding photographer provides you with a record of that special day that you can share with family and friends and it is worth having a consummate professional handle the photography on a day that cannot be repeated and must, therefore, be captured perfectly as it unfolds.

There is no need to offend any well-intentioned friend who offers to 'save you the cost of a photographer' by coming along with their camera. You can say that the more pictures that are taken of the day the better and you'd love your friend to capture informal pictures of all the guests who are usually left out of the formal shots or suggest that you want all your guests to relax and enjoy the day with you and let others do the work.

The formal groups that used to be the only product of wedding photography in former times are still part of a wedding album today but a first-class wedding photographer will capture special moments before, during and after the ceremony that will bring a smile to your face many years after the event. If your wedding is to take place in Surrey or South West London, you may be fortunate enough to be able to hire Kat Hannon, one of Britain's leading wedding photographers, to 'do' your special day!

Why Use A Professional Wedding Photographer?

Equipment Digital cameras are great but cameras designed to allow amateurs to take snapshots will not produce the results that professionals can obtain with their equipment. Apart from anything else, having a selection of different lenses allows a professional to get shots that someone with a single-lens apparatus cannot hope to obtain.

Locations One of the big differences between an amateur photographer and a professional is the ability to instantly see the 'whole' picture when taking a photograph and know how it will turn out, the result of training and experience. A professional wedding photographer has an eye for background, light and shade, colour and suitability and knows the best places to get the best results.

Choosing The Right Moments Unlike most photo shoots, a wedding doesn't allow for endless re-takes - a wedding photographer cannot shout "Cut!" and have events repeated until the shot comes out right! That is why it is so important to have a professional capture the day - knowing just when to take pictures and, equally, when not to... There are many little moments leading up the the wedding itself, just afterwards and during the reception that make for wonderful additions to a really good wedding album - who better to capture those moments than a wedding photographer who is also experienced in reportage? Nothing beats experience when it comes to getting it right first time every time and you are fortunate in having a Surrey wedding photographer who has that experience and can show you an example of what can be done to ensure that you always look back on your wedding with pleasure and that future generations will also admire the results.
