Wedding Dress & Hairstyle: Get The Right Look

Submitted By: Emily Tanner

The wedding dress and wedding hairstyle you choose are the most important decisions you will ever make, that is of course, after you have chosen the right groom!

When it comes to your wedding gown, there is such a vast range of styles, shapes and colour. Naturally, the wedding hairstyle has to come second to the dress, although the 2 must work together synonymously.

The best advice to take when choosing your wedding dress is to go to a shop with an open mind. It is all very well to have an idea of what you would like, but it's a known fact that 75% of brides come home with an unexpected choice of dress. It will be such a fun day out, and probably the only chance in your life you will get to 'play' with so many different types of wedding gown.

Choosing your bridal gown will be the most expensive shopping trip of your life! Most wedding dress specialists are only too helpful and will be quite happy for you to try on most of the shop, though you may have to pre-book an appointment at some places. If you are in a minority of places where the staff resemble those on Julia Robert's trip to Rodeo Drive in Pretty Woman then simply go elsewhere. No-one should hurry you into a decision about a wedding gown and no-one should make you feel like a nuisance.

Trying on wedding dresses of every style is essential; you really don't know what will suit you until you try it on. Experiment with bodice and skirt, all-in-one empire line, bias cut, strapless, spaghetti straps, off the shoulder, short sleeves, long sleeves, organza, silk, tulle, with a petticoat and without a petticoat. It would also be a good idea to take a few hair clips with you so that you can experiment with different wedding hairstyles as you are experimenting with different wedding dresses.

Before you go on your big shopping expedition, it would be a good idea to look through a range of bridal magazines. Look at different colours, styles, shapes, fabrics and designers so that you have a few ideas about what you like when you are trying on. It would also be a good idea to look at wedding hairstyles. Don't forget though, that bridal models usually look fantastic in everything they wear and all hairstyles suit them.

You would be better to look at a model with similar colourings and with a similar face shape to yourself. You should also look at certain combinations of wedding gowns and wedding hairstyles - chances are that particular dress styles lend themselves to particular hairstyles. For example, strapless gowns are often complemented by up-do's, whereas tall, slim brides wearing plain silk dresses look better with short, cropped hairstyles or loads of long unkempt tousled curls!

Once at a wedding gown shop, give your assistant some idea of what sort of dress you have in mind. Try your dream dress on and see how it makes you feel. But, don't be put off if an assistant suggests something completely different. Remember, they have kitted out hundreds of brides and probably have a good idea of what will suit you just by looking at you and talking to you. Go on, be daring! It is true what they say - "You will just know when you try on the right one!"

They may also have some good ideas about wedding hairstyles too, so don't be afraid to ask them.

Lastly, before choosing your dream wedding gown and a breathtaking wedding hairstyle to go with it, remember to choose something that suits the way you are now. Many brides plan to be 2 sizes smaller, have more defined arms, a longer neck or have longer hair by the big day, but you should always choose a wedding dress to suit how you are today. Look upon any weight loss or toning up as an added bonus - or the icing on the cake!

Perfect Wedding Hairstyle - Medusa And A Glass Of Bubbly

Submitted By: Daisy May

Hairstyles and headdresses perfectly matched are a complimentary duo for any bride on her wedding day. What you have to remember when deciding on your hairstyle is what may suit others may not necessarily be the right style for you. Practice makes perfect so try out different hairstyles in the mirror just to get a mirror image of your self. This will give a little insight as to whether you clip your hair up for the wedding or let it lie on the shoulder. A mental picture of your wedding gown is good to have at the back of your mind when choosing the hairstyle or better still if you can have it on at the time will make all the difference in helping you with your decision.

If the wedding dress is an off the shoulder design then consider letting the tresses flow but if the gowns collar is high necked like Victorian times then consider styling the hair up.

The shape of your face is another major factor taken into consideration when picking a hairstyle. If your present style is a look alike of Joan of arc do not despair the longer look can be achieved with hair extensions. Having the perfect hairstyle is very important and why not, as this is a very essential part of the brides whole entity that will add the finishing touches in making her feel just they way she should on a day as special as this.

Sort out an early appointment to talk to with a hairdresser. Find a stylist that holds a good reputation among your friends and family. Make sure after the consultation you are comfortable with your choice of clipper, go through every fine detail of the hairstyle that you would like. He/she can or may give their professional advice on your chosen style but if you are not happy with what they propose then stand your ground.

At the end of the day this is your wedding so the choice is yours. Elegant hairstyles that are quite stunning are the French twist or braids creatively enhanced by woven pearls.
To help emanate romance let the hair down. Short hair can be highlighted by adding decorative little menageries (rosebuds feathers hair jewels) Extensions can help fulfil your dream of having the perfect hairstyle.

Magazine browsing is a must for ideas if you are undecided on the hairstyle that will compliment your wedding dress or face features. Make arrangements with the hairdresser to have a practice run it may cost but it will be worthwhile to claim the style you crave. Another good idea is to bring along your headpiece e.g. tiara, cap for the hairdresser to fit at the same time.

Make sure the hairstyle is compatible with all dance moves especially the ones after a few glasses of bubbly if not then a guaranteed medusa look

Wedding Hair Style Tips: Choose Your Wedding Day Hairstyle Carefully

Submitted By: Melissa Burton

Women like to look glamorous, elegant and sexy on their wedding day so they usually take the time to choose an extravagant dress, stunning shoes and make up, and then there is the hair style. Whoa boy! Women usually have a stylist visit them when they are getting ready for the wedding, which costs a fortune, or they visit the parlour early in the morning before their wedding to get their chosen hair style done.

A woman's hair may be her crowning glory, but getting a new 'do' just before a big event in your life can be a major mistake. Plan ahead with any chemical treatments - bleaching, colouring, streaking, perming or straightening - and if you're considering any radical changes in length or style do it at least six to eight weeks before the big event, this way it gives you and your hair time to adjust together and get a “working relationship” on the go.

On your wedding day, hundreds of eyes will be on you, and your chosen wedding hair style can either complete the picture or detract from it. That is why it is so important to choose the perfect formal hairstyle well in advance of the big day so that you and your stylist can get it right and make custom additions to your wedding hair style. Nothing is worse than a hastily crafted coif decided upon only minutes before the ceremony, take the time with your stylist to go over what looks suit you and what looks don’t, obviously avoid the looks that don’t suit you. Larger figures should wear their hair up as this draws attention and slims the face down, slimmer brides should look at curls which accentuate the face and shoulders.

Men may seem as though they don’t care about their wedding hair style and women are none the wiser to it, but in fact the bride groom spends at least 15 minutes making sure all the gel is in the correct plane and he has no sticky up bits!!

A great wedding hair style is crucial, especially for those wedding pictures, make sure it's not some kind of style which is going to fall all over the place or is going to be blown around in high winds! That way you can be sure of looking great in those pictures!

Wedding Hairstyle: Be Fashionable With Your Hair

by James Brown

On your wedding day you have to make the most out of your hair. Your hairstyle can make you look like a million bucks if you get the services of a good and skilled hairdresser. Bridal hairstyles range from a closefitting cap version to a complicated, more detailed and vivid style. Bridal hairstyles should reflect the individual special style as well as character and person of the bride. More amusing, trendier and more unique hairstyles are what the brides are looking for nowadays.
A perfect wedding hairstyle can make your face more attractive and at the same time gratifying the vanity as well of your wedding dress and your headdress. It should go well with your character and individuality while emphasizing your best facial appearance and hiding your flaws. Here are some ideas for diverse kinds of style.

Hair brushed off or swept back illustrates more of your façade and contour. This style can be particularly fine for formal, proper or evening ceremonials. A wedding up do will emphasize your neck. This impression can vary from an effortless French twist to a fashionable and chic mass of curls. Hair worn down has a more informal and relaxed look, ideal for daytime, outdoor, sporty and casual weddings.

If you have long hair and it is brushed away or pulled back most of the time, then a stylish and graceful up do would be the look. Bring together or combine fine points from your wedding gown to your hairstyle. Details like interweaving or parody of fabrics can be an exact copy for your hair design or look. If you are always wearing your hair down then it is time to show off your beautiful face by putting your hair up and leaving the rest to fall around your shoulders. Let a few strands of your hair leak away to move freely around your face. They can be left unnatural or curled. Having it all down is just too informal for your wedding day. Long hair can be worn back, ponytailed or twisted with beading or fabric that goes with your gown.

If you have medium hair length then it can be twisted and worn with a crown like headdress or a glittery headband to spice it up. Or to make it simple and natural just place or insert some hair behind your ears and use hair clips with designs to hold back your hair. If your hairdresser is really good and brilliant then your hair can be worn up if you really want to. If you always wanted your hair up during your wedding day then do not have you hair cut and let it grow. Medium hair length is as adaptable or versatile as long. It can be twisted, placed behind your ears, straightened and swept loosely down

There are also a lot of styles to be done with short hair. Use your curling iron for the back portion of your head to five your hair more body and fullness. If you have baby hair or bangs then it is better if you sweep it off to the side and do not curl it because it will make you look really different. If you are planning to have your hair curled touch it when it is cooled down and not when it is still warm so that the curls won't be loose. Place also hair wax to create texture and to keep your hair in place. Short hair can be from smooth and glossy style to wavy and curly. A headdress or tiara, ornamental bobby pins, combs and hair clips all look spectacular and dramatic worn with short hair.

Bangs can be worn in several ways: soft, edgy, angled or slant, and with consistency. If you have them ever since then do not brush them aside and expose your forehead.

Modern styles are the key but should be secondary for what's more important is what really looks good on you. What is "in" may not fit with your gown. Whatever is your choice on the hairstyle, practice on your make-up or have a test make-up conducted a week prior to your wedding. Do this and you will have an incredible and astonishing wedding look.

Wedding Hairstyles - Finding the Perfect Look for Your Big Day

by Samuel Abdullah

Finding the absolute perfect hairstyle for your wedding takes a bit of thought and some planning in order to ensure you'll be happy with your look on the big day.

First, it's best to consider the overall theme of your wedding when deciding upon your hairstyle. Is it going to be a formal type of event or a more casual affair? What type of jewelry will you be wearing, and what style dress are you planning on wearing? If you're wearing your hair up in some way, dangly or elaborate earrings are appropriate, but if your hair is down, you may want to consider a smaller, simpler type of earring.

One of the most popular types of hairstyles for brides today is the upsweep, or up-do as it's sometimes called. The upsweep may actually be done in several different ways, depending on the length of the hair and the look you're trying to achieve. From the simple ponytail to intricate braids to the French twist, an upsweep can be either stunningly elegant or completely simple.

You'll also want to keep in mind what type of headpiece you'll be wearing on your wedding day when deciding on your hairstyle. A tiara looks fabulous with hair that's pulled back in some way, and if you'll be wearing a long veil, or even a crown made of flowers, perhaps you could leave your hair down and flowing.

If your hair is on the shorter side, you'll want to decide if you'd like to have curls or a straighter, simpler do, or even if you'd like to try hair extensions for this all important special occasion.

Many hair stylists and salons offer free consultations to brides-to-be so that they can talk to the stylist, and let them know exactly what they're really looking for or expecting from their wedding hairstyle before the big day actually arrives. Some brides choose to have a "trial run" and have their hair as well as their bridesmaids hair done the week before the wedding to be sure they chose the most complementary styles.

When browsing through the hairstyle and bridal magazines, pay attention to the hairdos on models who have faces that are shaped like yours. Also, look for styles on brides that are wearing dresses made similar to the one you'll be wearing. Sometimes, a style look a certain way on one person, but may not be that good of a look for another.

Also, if you're having a professional stylist do your hair, do let them know exactly what type of dress and jewelry you'll be wearing.

If you're planning on dying your hair, getting highlights or changing the color in any way, it's always a good idea to do this several weeks before the big day. Any drastic haircuts or changes in style should be done a few months before the wedding to give yourself a chance to get used to the "new you" and to make any necessary adjustments.

8 Wedding Hairstyles Ideas

by Bobette Kyle-Wagner

If ever there was time to make the most of your hair, it is for your wedding. Your bridal hairstyle can look like a million with imagination and the skills of a good hairdresser. Wedding hairstyles range from a more coiffed version of your everyday hair to an elaborate and dramatic style.

Perfect wedding hairstyles flatter your face, your wedding gown, and your veil. They suite your personality while accentuating your best features and minimizing your weak ones. Here are some suggestions for different kinds of hair.

- Hair swept back or up shows more of your face and profile. This style can be especially nice for formal or evening weddings.
- A wedding up-do will accentuate your neck. This look can range from a simple French twist to a stylish mass of ringlets.
- Hair worn down or loose has a more casual look, perfect for daytime, outdoor, and informal weddings.
- Long hair can be worn back, loose, braided, or entwined with beading or fabric that matches your gown.
- Medium-length hair is nearly as versatile as long. It can be curled, straightened, tucked behind your ears, or brushed loosely down.
- Even brides with short hair can have a long, thick wedding day hairstyle. Clip on hairpieces and extensions are available in a variety of colors and styles.
- Short hair can be versatile, from sleek styles to curly. Tiaras, decorative bobby pins, combs, and hair clips all look stunning worn in short hair.
- Bangs can be worn several ways: soft, fringy, angled, or textured. If you've never had bangs, experiment with them well in advance. If you've always had them, this is not the time to sweep them aside and bare your forehead.

Current styles are important, but should be secondary to what is right for you. Something may be "in" but all wrong for you or your dress. Whatever style you choose, have practice sessions in the week before your ceremony. Do this and your wedding day will most certainly be a fabulous hair day.

Bridal Hairstyles - How to Look Inimitable on Wedding Day

by JERRY WHITE

How to make your bridal hairstyle incredibly beautiful? Usually, even experienced stylists won't offer you anything extraordinary; they have a number of slightly different bridal hairstyles they create for all their clients. But what if I want something new, something no one ever saw or wore on a wedding? Well, this is hard, but not impossible.

First of all, be creative. Accessories are a great way to make your bridal hairstyle look spectacular.Bejeweled hair sticks or vintage hair combs can be a good choice. Pick up the bridal hairstyle accessories wisely. Try to choose something you are likely to wear after the day. You can also save money by using your old necklace, brooch, old earrings, cufflinks and other jeweled pieces as the bridal hairstyle accessories.Small hair jewelry is widely available to go into your bridal hairstyle; even if it is very small, it can still make a noticeable change. Anything from pearls to glass or even diamonds can make your bridal hairstyle incredible.

Flowers are also a great way to decorate your bridal hairstyle, but don't forget about taste and combinability. Tied-up hair matches a large clip or many tiny little flowers. With flowing down hair, one or two large flowers to decorate your bridal hairstyle will be enough.

Secondly, if you can't make your imagination work, you may look for fresh ideas of bridal hairstyles in the numerous magazines or websites. If you find something interesting, you don't have to copy the bridal hairstyle exactly how it is. Try to find several bridal hairstyles and make an inimitable combination, pick up the most beautiful and interesting and create your own bridal hairstyle.

The most important recommendation here is to listen to your taste and intuition. You are already inimitable; all you need is to match your bridal hairstyle with your personality. Don't hurry or fall into despair. Look at choosing your bridal hairstyle as at the interesting adventure, walk through the malls and look through the magazines. Wait for a perfect bridal hairstyle idea to come to your mind. That's really an exciting activity and you will enjoy it.

HAIR STYLING: WEDDING

by weddinghair

Naturally, your wedding day is the most important day of your life. For this reason, you want everything to be perfect, including the flowers, cake, photography, music, gown, and of course, hair. Along with all the other aspects of a wedding, the hair needs to look better than ever. You will reach a point where you have to decide the type of wedding hair styles that appeal to you most. Some brides prefer an updo while other brides like the hair down. To make your decision, several factors will come into play. For instance, if you are considering a theme wedding, then you should discuss wedding hair styles with the bridal party to ensure everyone is on the same page. This is important in that you will probably have friends standing up with you that have a variety of haircuts. For example, if you were planning a Victorian style wedding where the women had long, curly hair, the bridesmaid with the short hair would have a challenge to deal with.

Some other factors important to consider include the style of your wedding gown, your specific hair type, the type of veil, headpiece, or hair jewelry you plan to wear, the season, and of course, your personal preference. If you will be wearing a wedding gown that has a low-cut neckline, soft, feminine curls would look beautiful, cascading around your bare shoulders. On the other hand, if the gown were high-collared, then you would want to consider wedding hair styles that could be worn up.

If you are completely unsure where to begin, keep in mind that traditional wedding hair styles never become outdated. These styles remain very popular and work well with a formal or informal wedding. This type of hairstyle would include an updo, sprayed and pinned into place and then tight curls created at the nape of your neck. Typically, a veil or headpiece would then be attached to the bun or roll at the crown, with soft tendrils flowing freely at the sides.

For many brides, the goal is to look sophisticated and elegant on this special day. If glamour is what you are looking for in wedding hair styles, then you could pull all your hair up in a topknot, which would be ideal for framing the face. With a bun created on the crown and then the rest of the hair swept into it, you would see chic contrasting streaks that are gorgeous and definitely glam. Another option to consider when it comes to wedding hair styles is one that can be worn with short hair. In this case, the hair would be backcombed, as a way of creating fullness. Then, the hair would be pulled back smooth and pinned to create an oval shape. Finally, with a curling iron, you would create delicate curl that would fall just around the front part of the veil and fastened with bobby pins that match your hair color or with gems.

To achieve a romantic look on your wedding day, you can always use a number of hair ornaments or jewelry. Even simple wedding hair styles can be enhanced with the right things. For example, you could wear your hair pulled back in a ponytail but by adding a chignon or beaded wrap, you have taken an everyday hairstyle and transformed it into a beautiful and romantic style. Even wearing your short hair down, you can add small pin curls and jeweled barrettes to create an elegant look. Other options that enhance wedding hair styles would be to interweave lace, ribbon, or matching gown fabric in your hair.

With a little creativity, the options for creating the fairytale look are endless. You might consider rolling your hair with medium size rollers with your hair just barely damp. Under a dryer, allow the curl to set and then when the rollers are removed, you can use a wide, bristle brush to brush the curls loosely. Then take the hair and twist it up, leaving small strands of the curl out with the rest of the hair secured with the veil or gemmed hair jewelry.

And, if you want a fairytale look, you can roll your hair with medium rollers. For the best results, make sure your hair is damp and then once rolled, set under a dryer. Once the rollers are removed, you will use a wide bristle brush to brush the curls out loosely, being careful not to pull the actual curl out and then twist the hair up and pin it. To complete the look, simply work with the curls until a tousled look has been achieved.

Secrets to finding your wedding hair style

Find your wedding hair style

A great secret to finding your wedding hair style is to pay attention to celebrity red carpet hair style events.

Most celebrities will have their hair professionaly done for these occasions and the hair styles are usually some sort of updo.

Once you see a hair style that you like, try to picture it with your wedding dress. Does it match the style and theme of your dress?

Coordinating your dress with your hair and the formality of your wedding is very important. If you have the wrong hair style, it can ruin everything.

For best results, schedule a trial run at the salon several weeks before your wedding. Then go home, with your wedding hair style, and try on your dress. Wear the style all day long to see if it will stand up to all the activity, i.e. dancing and moving around.
This is the best way to get the perfect hair style and look totally awesome for your big day. See Wedding Hair Styles

Choosing Wedding Hairstyles for You

by Victoria Poole

When you're getting ready to get married, it's important to look at a wide range of wedding hairstyles. Your wedding should be the most memorable events in your life and for that event, you're going to want to look perfect. If you're going to spend hours and hours looking for a wedding dress, why not take the time to make sure you're hair is perfect too? Looking for the perfect hairstyle isn't that difficult. All you have to do is pay attention to the hairstyles on the women in the bridal magazines. This is often better than looking through hairstyle magazines because you can see what the hairstyle actually looks like with the dress.

Going Up or Staying Down

In many ways, looking for a wedding hairstyle is a lot like looking for a wedding dress. You have to make several decisions up front. Should your hair be up or down? Curly or straight? Classic or whimsical? Most hairstylists will suggest that you go with something you're familiar with. For example, if you usually wear your hair up, you might want to go for an up do. People are generally more comfortable with their hair if they're at least mildly familiar with the style.

Before you decide whether to put your hair up or down, consider the wedding venue. If you're getting married on the beach in the middle of August, you might want to put your hair up. This will keep you cooler and keep the wind from blowing your hair in your face during the ceremony.

Some Wedding Hairstyle Advice

Hairdressers will tell you not to wash your hair before you get it done for your wedding. So, the day of your wedding, do not wash your hair. It doesn't matter how bad your hair looks, just don't wash it. Unwashed hair takes better to styling products and, if you're getting your hair done, it will be full of styling products.

When you go to get your hair done, make sure to wear a button down shirt. You do not want to put a shirt over your head after your hair's been done. This will mess up your hair.

Also, don't let your wedding day be the first day you try your new hairstyle. Ask the hairdresser if you can come in a week before the wedding and try out the style. The stylist will just run through the style very quickly. This will let you see if you like the style before the big day. If you don't, you can work with your stylists to find other wedding hairstyles that will work for you.

Wedding Hairstyles - Elegance And Beauty by Vicki Churchill

A bride will take time to consider many wedding hairstyles to make sure she has the right style for her and one that will wow her guests at the wedding. Not so long ago a bride with short hair would not be able to consider Spanish updos or cascade of curls wedding hairstyles as they would simply be impossible to create with a limited amount of hair.

These days hairstylists are able to create the impossible and literally design whatever wedding hairstyles you could possibly imagine. With the use of hair extensions and dyes they can totally transform your look.

Elegance is normally what a bride is looking to be and with wedding hairstyles such as the Angel or elegant updo a bride can achieve this and when a woman has a hair style they love there is nothing better to show off her natural beauty and radiance on the big day.

Alternatively the bride to be may wish to choose wedding hairstyles that are simple, easy to manage and will look as good after eight hours of vows, photos, speeches and receptions as they did when she first walked down the aisle.

Empress wedding hairstyles are particularly popular. This creation consists of tight curls and looks stunning with any colour hair. The look is of a Greek goddess or Roman Empress and can be beautifully and easily enhanced by wearing a tiara. Any bride with this wedding hairstyle will feel confident as well as looking stunning.

Whatever wedding hairstyles you have in mind you should always bear in mind the overall theme of your wedding. You may well fall in love with a particular style but it would be much better if the style was in keeping with the rest of the wedding theme. That said, you must always ensure you choose a hairstyle which makes you feel special and comfortable throughout the whole day.

Before your big day it is vital that you have a trial run with the style you have chosen. An even better idea would be to try out a few wedding hairstyles beforehand as what may look good in a photograph may not always suit you.

Make sure you use a hairdresser that has been highly recommended by someone you know and whose judgement you trust. Better still use a hairdresser you have used before as they will be able to work with your hair better and be able to give solid advice on the best wedding hairstyles to have.

You will also need to bear in mind when selecting wedding hairstyles how they will look if it is your intention is to wear any accessories such as a tiara or veil as they may drastically alter the look or just be impossible to have with the particular style you ultimately select.

Short Wedding Hair Styles

Going Short for your wedding
When you think of wedding hair styles, typically you will think of some sort of updo. But there are no hard and fast rules that you have to wear an updo hair style because you are getting married.
Recently the long, wavy hair style has come back as a favorite look for wedding day hair. This short style, worn by Ashley Judd, also has its place in the wedding hair selection gallery.
This blunt, short hair style will work great for a wedding day hair style. Combine it with a fancy necklace, earrings and you have the no-fuss wedding look.
If you want something a little extra, you could wear a jeweled tiara or maybe some flowers in your hair.

Simple Wedding Updos

Must wedding hair updos be so complicated that only an experienced hair stylist can create them?
Actually, a very simple updo, see photo left, not only looks fantastic as a wedding updo hair style, but it is also so easy that you can create it on your own.
Apply a styling cream throughout the hair and blow dry using a large round brush. Blow dry the hair straight. Run a flat iron of the hair from roots to ends to create an extra-smooth finish.
Next, gather all the hair and pull back into a mid-height ponytail. Next, twist the pony tail into a chignon and pin the ends inside.
Add long, diamond earrings to the style and you are good to go. This hair style will work well with any tiara, headpiece or veil that you want to attach.
It is always recommende that you do a trial run several weeks in advance. The trial run will give you the chance to practice creating this simple updo and also to see if it will hold up to a whole afternoon or evening of dancing and mingling.

Beautiful Wedding Hairstyles

by Denise Duncan

The day you have waited for all your life has finally arrived. This is the day when you are going to walk down that aisle and say "I do" to the love of your life. As with every bride to be, you want this day to go perfectly and to look perfect, especially you. Brides have many concerns on their wedding day, one concern is the kind of hairstyle that you should have on this momentous occasion.

Choosing a wedding hairstyle that is perfect for you and in tune with what you want can be easy. You can consult with a professional hairstylist a few weeks before your wedding. This professional hairstylist and make-up artist may need to see your wedding gown and veil. This will help to assess what hairstyle you should wear on your wedding day. If you hairstylist thinks that you should have your hair in a chignon on your special day, yet you have short hair, don't fret or think that the hairstylist you consulted is crazy. With the use of hair extensions and falsies you can have a chignon for your wedding day.

There are a lot of wedding hairstyles that you can choose from for your wedding day so shop around for a hair stylist you trust. It takes time to choose the right hairstyle among the numerous wedding hairstyles you can use. It is all a matter of finding what suits the length of your hair, your face, your gown and your veil the best. Professional hairstylists often know what hairstyles suit all these considerations and will often give suggestions to the different kinds of wedding hairstyles that you can choose from. You can also choose a hairstyle by doing a little research and printing out from websites or cutting pictures from magazines of the kinds of wedding hairstyles you might want for your big day. You can then show these choices to your hairstylist and have him or her pick out the ones that are suitable for you and your veil and gown.

The majority of brides often choose to go with the classic French twist for an elegant look. This kind of a hairstyle often has curly little ringlets framing the face. The veil usually covers most of the twisted and set hair in the back. The French twist is said to be the most adaptable of all up-dos because it can be used for any kind of veil and with any shape face. There are also wedding hairstyles where you wear your hair down in a more casual look. This kind of a wedding hairstyle may turn into a tangled and disheveled look if your hairstylist does not have some tricks up his sleeve to help keep your hair in place.

Spend the time to find the perfect hairstyle for your wedding day. Use the help of a professional hairstylist and do a little research to find the style you will be happy with. Soon you will be walking down the aisle in the wedding hairstyle that is just perfect for you on your special day.

Bridal hair style

by Leigh Connelly

Bridal hair style

If you're getting married in the near future then you have no doubt already begun to worry, no stress, about your hairstyle on the big day! Bridal hair style is such a huge deal, second only to choosing the dress, that many brides spend weeks pouring over bridal magazines and tips to figure out which style is best for their situation! Here are a few of the more popular choices of brides-to-be lately:

* The Classic Updo: An updo will bring any hairstyle up the charts in terms of elegance and grace. If you are having a fancy wedding then you'll want to look at the classic updo because the curls and twists within it lead better for a formal activity. This style works better for medium length hair that is at least somewhat straight and thick. * The Modern Updo: The modern updo is a little variation on the above classical look. Instead of looking as formal as the classic, the modern look leads for a more mysterious, romantic look! The greatest thing about this style is that it works for literally any type of hair! * Long and graceful: If you are a bride-to-be and your hair is already pretty long then there is no reason to run to the barber for a trim because long is in! Wearing your hair down the back of your neck in a straight and sleek look provides a great casual appearance while doing a ½ updo gives it a more formal appeal!

No matter what type of hair you have or what style you are going after, here are a few tips you can keep in mind when it comes to bridal hair style and the choices within:

1. Make sure you have an in-depth conversation with your stylist so you have all the kinks worked out about your upcoming day! 2. Make sure you have tried the style out well before the wedding day itself! The last thing you want is a bridal hair style that you absolutely hate (although it looked great in photographs!). 3. Get your hair colored at least a week ahead of time! Colored hair reaches its prime after a week or two of being colored. 4. Do not over condition your hair! Hair that has this problem is nearly impossible to style correctly and can be tough to wash out! If you can, try not to wash or condition your hair on the day of your wedding.

Wedding Hairstyles - A new bride to-be would plan

by David Yu

One of the things that a bride should worry least about on her wedding day is her hairstyle. Nonetheless this is rarely ever the case. A new bride-to-be would plan from months before what she would look like on her wedding day, and apart from her gown, the hairstyle is the next biggest part of her finished look that would make all the difference.

The first thing a bride-to-be should consider when trying to decide on a wedding hairstyle is whether or not she would be wearing a veil or a tiara. This would make all the difference with regards to the type of hairstyle that she should choose. Secondly to consider about the bride's hairstyle is her hair length - you cannot very well decide you want the curls and all when you have short straight hair! Finally the bride should consider if she wants her hair up or down, and which would be compliment her features on her wedding day.

First of all, the wedding veil is an important part of the wedding gown. While some would choose not to opt for one, many brides are more conventional and would want the wedding veil and the whole nine yards at the wedding event. If you opt to go with the wedding veil on your wedding day, then you have to decide on the hairstyle that best compliments that veil. If you wish to have your hair open and loose on your wedding day, then make sure that the veil is longer than your hair length. Also, lighter veils are best for the hair being left open - a heavy veil would tend to pull the hair downwards and thus undo the body that you may have added to your loose hair - whether it is the elegant curls or the simple waves. For the bride who wishes to keep her hair up for her wedding, she must decide if the wedding veil should sit at the top of her hairstyle, or if the hairstyle should sit at the top of the veil. The latter would be the case for the really intricate hairstyle that the bride may wish to show off.

Secondly, the length of the bride's hair is a very critical issue to consider when planning the hairstyle for that big day. While hair extensions are a possibility, most brides would prefer to be as natural as possible on one of the biggest and most amazing days of their lives. For the short hair, the bride could consider pinups with soft accents framing the face. A bride-to-be with short hair also has the option of growing her hair naturally months before her wedding if she desires a style that requires longer hair.

Finally, the bride either has the option of letting her hair loose for the wedding ceremony, or choosing an elaborate updo. The hair styled up is one of the more popular choices, and has been a classic hairstyle for all formal occasions from generations gone to generations now.

Choosing A Wedding Hairstyle

by David Yu

The wedding hairstyle is one of the most important fine details that the bride would have to decide on long before her wedding, and it is one that is never overlooked - for everyone understands and appreciates that the wedding hairstyle is one of the most important features of the bride-to-be. In fact, the hairstyle is among the most defining points of any woman - it can break or make an outfit, a fashion statement, or simply soften an otherwise severe facial feature.

A bride can choose to look like a fairytale princess at her wedding, or she can choose to look like the queen of the castle instead; she can choose an enchanting hairstyle, or she can opt for one that is totally bewitching. She may even choose to go with the more unconventional but daring hairstyle on her wedding day. Whichever she chooses though, you can bet that she would have given much thought and consideration into the fact before choosing a single one!

The princess hairstyle : is one of the most flattering hairstyles that a young bride could choose for her wedding day. Most wedding hairstyles require that the hair be pulled back from the face, and the princess hairstyle is no exception. This is the clean formal look that for years has been the preferred choice among aristocrats and well-off women alike. The princess wedding hairstyle can however be held up or down. Generally though, it is the hairstyle that finds its basis in large but soft waves held back from the face and usually parted at the sides or the center. This hairstyle can work for the bride with long hair or the bride with medium hair. The princess hairstyle can also either be worn with a veil or with a tiara, or both.

The queen hairstyle : is very much like the princess hairstyle with the exception that the hairstyles are more elaborate and may include side bangs to soften the somewhat severe look of aristocracy. Side paths, middle paths, or no paths at all may be used in the hair which could either be loosely pulled back or tightly pulled back. If you choose to go with the tightly pulled back look, then the rest of your hair is best piled in curls at the top of the head. This is a look that again can either go with a veil, a tiara, or both.

All other wedding hairstyles are basically modifications of these two however. With the hair held down, soft waves are the most stylish and fashionable hairdos. Variations of the upswept hair include half up-half down options and fully upswept options. For the fully upswept look, the bride could consider the French knot or variations of the French knot with soft bangs sweeping the forehead.

Wedding Hair Styles With Bangs

Adding some sort of bangs to your wedding hair style can create an ultra-soft romantic look for your wedding.

To create this hair style, work a styling cream evenly through damp hair. Blow dry the hair using a large round brush to direct and position the hair. Part the hair deep on one side and use the round brush to direct the hair swooping accross your forehead.

Extra height in the crown area can be created by gently back combing small sections of hair and smoothing over the top with your fingers.

Wedding Day Hair Styles for Men

by Gia Deonne

Not Just About the Bride

That's right; believe it or not, it is your wedding too. A wedding is a symbol of your commitment to the one you love, and as such, is one of the most important days of your life. As a prospective groom, you know that all of the attention is focused on your bride-to-be, but that doesn't mean that your own wedding day style needs to fall flat. Joico, the leader in the professional hair care product industry, is here to help, with quick tips that you can use to get the wedding day style you want.

Tip #1: Let it fall forward. If you're normally a slicked back type of guy, take a tip from Tom Cruise and let your short/medium length hair fall forward on your face, using Joico ICE Molder Matte Texture Cream for definition and pliable, bendable hold. This look is perfect for those who want their hair to look slightly ruffled without looking sloppy, and women find it pretty appealing too-just ask Tom.

Tip #2: Spike it up. Now, this is your wedding day we're talking about, so huge, dramatic spikes probably aren't an option, but you can still use a product like Joico ICE Spiker Styling Glue to give your hair a little bit of an edge. If your hair is longer in the front, try pushing it back from your forehead and spiking it up very slightly for an added dimension to your look.

Tip #3: Stay away from a new haircut: This one is more of a "do" than a "don't," and its something that stylists and beauty magazines tell women over and over again. Why? Because "fresh" haircuts don't always turn out as expected, and even if they do, you will have less experience styling them, especially on your wedding day.

Tip #4: Stick with the classics. Your wedding day is not the time to try out a wild style idea. Most weddings, even when they are attended by non-traditional types of people, are very traditional, and your family (and your new wife's family) will want to take pictures-lots of 'em.

Tip #5: Ask your stylist. You may think that you don't need a stylist, but you'd be surprised if you knew how many men go to them on a regular basis. Your stylist will be able to help you select a look, and the Joico hair products, that are right for you.

Wedding Hair Beauty Tips for Short Hair Cuts

by Gia Deonne

Make Your Short Hair Cut Work for You

Congratulations, you're getting married! In the midst of all of the frenzied planning, it might be tempting, especially if you have a short hair style, to forget about styling your hair for the big day. Even if you have a cropped, low maintenance style, it is still possible to add some style and variety to your 'do, and Joico hair care products can help make it all happen. Many celebrities, like Halle Berry and Anne Heche, have sported beautiful short hair styles at their weddings, and so can you.

Tip #1: Don't get a new look right before the wedding: This is a tip that Joico expert stylists say can save you much frustration. The best thing to do if you really want to have a fresh hair cut before you say "I Do" is to have your Joico stylist create it several weeks before the wedding. That way, you can not only make sure that you like the new style, but you will also be able to have it redone if necessary.

Tip #2: Give your hair a twist: delicate, softly-sculpted curls can give any short hair style a more romantic look. After washing with your favorite Joico brand shampoo and conditioner, be sure to apply Joico Curl Definer Crème/Gel to help your curls retain their shape and avoid becoming frizzy and limp. For extra style assurance and curl definition, follow up with Joico Curl Activator leave-in spray, and Joico Brilliantine Spray Gloss.

Tip #3: Try some texture: Joico's ICE line of hair care products texturize, sculpt, style, and mold your hair into anything your imagination can dream up. Joico Molder Matte Texture Cream is formulated for dry hair-perfect for when those wedding day plans leave you breathless and you realize that your hair has dried before you had a chance to style it. Molder Matte Texture Cream, like the rest of the ICE products, is infused with polymers that create a micro web of weightless support, while natural extracts of sea kelp protect and nourish every strand.

Tip #4: Accessorize: Your Joico salon stylist can help you decide how best to place the sparkly rhinestones, pearls, silk flowers, and other stylish little items that can give even the closest cropped cuts a little extra pizzazz. The trick is not to overdo it, and to also make sure that you use a strong spray, like Joico JoiMist Firm, to hold it all together.

Perfect Bridal Hairstyles

by Paul Haughney

Having problems deciding on a hairstyle? Choosing the right hairstyle for your dream wedding day isn't rocket science, so why is it difficult? You want to look like you like a princess, but you need a little bit of help and here we've outlined all you need to know for that dream bridal hairstyle.

Look for hairstyle ideas The easiest way is to start collecting pictures from magazines and nowadays you can find some great hair style resources on the Internet. And be realistic - is the length, thickness etc of your hair really suitable for the style you have your heart set on? Bring along lots of pictures to your hairstylist and ask here for advice on at least 3 different styles and then let her try each one out.

Hair up or Hair Down? Try to select a hairstyle that suits your face shape - for example round faces tend to suit high "updo's" and sleek long styles while those with long faces suit hairstyles that have more width and volume. Would you be comfortable with all of your hair swept away from your face? You need to consider having some hair both up and down, or just leaving some wispy bits around your face to soften the look. If you have an off-the-shoulder or low cut dress will you feel comfortable with some flesh exposed?

Straight or Curly Once you have made a decision to wear you hair up or down, your possibilities are endless. Curls are romantic and soft, as are twists, pleats, plaits and variations to the bun. Or maybe you prefer a more contemporary twists and spikes. Try to reflect your own personality in your bridal hairdo, but don't be a fashion victim.

Tiara's and Veils These need to compliment your bridal hairstyle but not hide it. If you have chosen a large floor-length veil, your hairstyle needs to be strong enough to hold its shape until you take the veil off. Some veils look a lot better sat at the rear of your head under a bun or a mass of curls. As a general rule, the hair shouldn't be worn longer than the veil.

Jewels, beads and flowers These are very popular as they add some sparkle and colour and can match in with your colour scheme and jewellery. Pins and hairgrips with sparkling gems create a stunning effect, whilst small flowers can be scattered amongst the curls or wired to a hidden comb to flatter a French pleat.

A trial run Always have a hairstyle trial well in advance of your wedding. Your hair may need to grow longer for your desired style, so you can always have another trial nearer to your wedding day.

Your wedding hair checklist 1. Have a trial run with your hairstylist as soon as your wedding date is finalised. And if possible, take along a small selection of dress photos, and any hair accessories you plan to wear.

2. Find out if your hair needs to be grown longer, and improve your hair condition with quality conditioning treatments, and maybe even change the colour.

3. Never shampoo your hair or use conditioning treatments on your wedding day.

4. Just take it easy and relax.

Adding bangs to your wedding hair style

Bangs
Adding wispy or side swept bangs to your updo wedding hair style can be the perfect finish to a very romantic look. See Jennifer Lopez example, left.
Create this style by pulling back all the hair in the crown area and twisting it into a low chignon. Pin layers in place with bobby pins.
Next, leave out wispy bangs and side fringe to softly drape across your forehead. Add jeweled earrings and even a tiara as a finishing touch.

Brides Trade In Tiaras For Flowers

Some brides this summer, are foregoing tiaras, letting their tresses down and pinning flowers up in their hair. For every bride there is a matching flower in taste, style and ambiance. Flowers can be used with a veil or can stand on their own for a beautiful look. The hottest flowers and hairstyles will be everything from sweet to sultry. With smaller flowers, a couple or a few will do. It depends on what the bride wants: if you want one that takes the cake, or a few here and there. From lilies to orchids, the following flowers will set you apart this summer.

LILY The lily, especially the oriental lily, is a timeless flower frequently associated with weddings. A symbol of purity, this glamorous bloom works best with up-dos twisted or curled in the middle to the lower section of the back of the head. The lily can easily be pinned to the side of the do. This style is especially stunning for bridal photos. For a down hairstyle, curl the hair in barrel rolls and pin back a few pieces on one side, placing the lily beside the pinned locks. If worn on the wedding day, the bride doesn't need much perfume because of the lily's strong scent. Lilies' petals can reach a span of six inches, making it a perfect flower for the bride who wishes to make a statement. Lilies come in shades of pink and red, although white is the most popular.

GERBERA DAISY Distinquished by their large, beautiful blooms and wide assortment of vibrant colors, gerbera daisies have become a favorite flower choice. The gerbera daisy is a symbol of beauty and innocence and an expression of cheerfull sentiments. For a less formal approach, gerbera daisies are perfect for the bride with long locks. Pull a few pieces back and pin them with a gerbera daisy. Or sport a very simple french twist with the daisy set in the crease.

STEPHANOTIS The Stephanotis flower has always been a popular wedding flower, symbolizing happiness in marriage, good luck and bonds of affection. Stephanotis florets enhance an up-do of curls and must be pinned carefully because of their flimsy stems. Discuss with your florist how many stephanotis you will need depending on the style and thickness of your hair. A bride with short hair may use five to six stephanotis in a clump, pinned behind her ear. For an up-do, consider a french twist with individual stephanotis in a straight line up the crease. Or leave the hair down, randomly pinning them in the curls. These small white florets are available year round and have a soft scent.

ROSE Charming roses are a signature flower for weddings. There is no flower that has been revered and celebrated as much as the rose. As a source of inspiration to people throughout history, roses are the definitive symbol for love and appreciation. Coming in an array of colors, and available in larger and smaller blooms, roses can be beautifully placed in barrel rolls turned forward. Roses are always elegant, classic and romantic.

GARDENIA Somewhat similar in appearance to the garden rose but more costly and delicate, gardenias are a classic addition to any hairstyle. Symbolizing joy, refinement and beauty. These fragrant flowers create a more sophisticated look than the traditional headpiece. If you have one gardenia in your hair and your hair is pulled back, that can be more dramatic looking than a tiara. Because of this bloom's sensitivity, a style off the face with the gardenia pinned in back would be best to avoid contact with the petals as they are fragile and may bruise easily.

ORCHID With an exotic appearance, orchids have come to represent rare and delicate beauty. Those seeking to make a lasting impression with a unique flower have found the orchid to be a perfect choice. You could use one or a few of these flowers in your hair, depending on the style. One suggestion is overlaying three orchids on top of each other and pinning them toward the top or bottom of the hair on either side. Offsetting is the key. These flowers appear best when clumped together rather than scattered randomly. The three most common orchid types, each durable enough to stay in full bloom for the big day, are cymbidium, dendrobium and phalaenopsis. Cymbidium orchids are gorgeous for a more elegant look. Orchids are usually available year round and come in a variety of colors. The "hot" flower for the summer bride, is a lime green orchid.

Each bridesmaid should wear a simpler form of hair accessory such as one or two of the flowers that have been used in the bride's hair. These can be used with a headband or pinned into the side or back of the style. Whatever flower you decide to use, make sure you discuss it with your stylist before your hair appointment. For healthy, rich-colored petals, pick up your blooms the morning of the wedding and take them with you to the salon. It is recommended that the flowers be left in the refrigerator overnight if they're picked up a day early.

Wedding Hair Style Do's and Don'ts

by Gia Deonne

Your Wedding Hair Style

No matter what your normal hair care approach, the hair style that you select for your wedding should be tailored to fit your style and personality. As the big day approaches, you will find yourself besieged by well-meaning advice from every corner-about virtually every subject. The wedding hairstyle that you choose should enhance your features and compliment your bridal outfit-a tall order to fill, especially when you are in the midst of booking a hall, planning a menu, registering for gifts, and completing the other jobs before you say "I Do." Here are some other "Do's" as well as some "Don'ts" to keep in mind when selecting the perfect wedding day hair style.

DO: Make an appointment with your Joico Salon Stylist, if you haven't already. Your stylist has years of experience and expertise, and can help you select the best look for you.

DON'T: Feel pressured to choose a current fashion hairstyle just because it's the latest trend. Those well-meaning suggestions from friends and relatives can be helpful, but only if they help you choose a style that you are comfortable with.

DO: Keep the theme of your wedding in mind when selecting a wedding hair style-you've scrupulously coordinated everything else, so make sure you're selecting a 'do to complement all of your hard work. For Example: You wouldn't want to wear an upswept, classic, romantic hair style to your jungle-themed wedding, now would you?

DON'T: Match the exact lines of your wedding hair style to the lines of your gown. This may seem like a wedding hair style tip "Do," but really, your hair style needs to complement and accent your gown, rather than simply blending in.

DO: Trust your Joico stylist. Joico products provide revolutionary hold, body, and performance that you just won't find anywhere else.

DON'T: Forget to smile! This is your time to shine, and Joico products can help your hair style to look as brilliant and stunning as the rest of you undoubtedly will on your special day.

by John Ren

If you are a female reader, I’m sure your knowledge on bridal hairsyle is much more than mine.

I would like to share how you can more easily explain to your make-up artist the type of hairstyles you want.

These are what you can do:
1. Surf the net or browse through wedding magazines.
2. Cut or print out the photos of brides with the hairstyles you want.
3. Bring these pictures during your visit to your make-up artist.
4. With the photos, describe to them what you have in mind.
5. Make-up artist will spend some time doing the new hairstyle for you.
6. See if your really like it and it further enhance your personality.
7. Check out any hair accessory that is available.
8. If you need to borrow any accesory on the wedding day, do arrange to collect from the artist a few days before that day.

A good tip is remember to choose something that suits you, that the other way round.

Wedding Day Hair Styles - A Top Ten Checklist

by Mike Jones

The big day is fast approaching, and the energy of the moment sweeps you up. But does it carry your hair along too? Use the following checklist to ensure your wedding day hair is everything you dream it will be:

1. Which stylist? Make bookings for consultations with more than one stylist well in advance and decide on the one you feel most comfortable with. You should be able to express your likes and dislikes without feeling awkward.

2. Long hair, shoulder length, or short hair? It is important to consult with your stylist well in advance and make a decision. Long hair obviously gives the stylist much freedom for creativity but a skilled stylist can also work well with medium and short styles. Be sure to choose a length that fits with your personality and style.

3. Have your hair compliment your wedding dress. This can be done by both style and accessories. Smooth, straight hair and pinned up curls are often paired up with smooth satin gowns, whereas a tulle dress often goes well with soft curls.

4. Take into consideration your silhouette. If it's along horizontal lines such as with a wide dress, you'll want to stick with that look for your hair as well. The same goes for a vertical profile.

5. You'll be spending a lot of time at the salon picking out the perfect hairstyle, so it's best to be prepared. Be sure to wash your hair the night before your consultation, and try to have some pictures of styles you'd like to try out.

6. Take a picture of your wedding dress along to your stylist. This will greatly help the process along. Also take your veil with you, and let the stylist know what kind of wedding you are having: formal, informal, evening, daytime. Alternatively, consult with your stylist before deciding on your headpiece.

7. If you are interested in a new cut or color to your hair, don't wait until right before your wedding. Make the changes during the initial consultation with the stylist, so that you don't have any unpleasant surprises down the road.

8. After you have decided on your style, make sure you walk around with it. Your wedding day will be a long one and you certainly don't want an uncomfortable hair do causing irritation!

9. Your veil length will have some influence on your choice of hairstyle. Normally, the veil is longer than the hair. It is often secured in back swept hair (for up dos) and it's important to make sure the style can hold the veil in place.

10. What accessories are you going to wear? You will already (hopefully!) have your headpiece picked out. Flowers, pins, and beads can be used to add an extra sparkle to your hair, and you can and should coordinate them with the rest of your jewelry.

It may sound like choosing a bridal hair style is a strenuous activity, but the care and preparation is simply to make sure your wedding day is the best it can be.

Following this ten point checklist will ensure your wedding day hair style is a delight, not a disaster!

Bridal Hairstyle Part 3

by Jhong Ren

As a groom that time, I felt that the make-up of my wife is very important. In addition, the wedding gowns she chose, the shoes she was wearing, her bridal hairstyle, her hair accessory were important factors to how both of us look on the aisle during march in.

It is not to say because I wanted to look good and that is why she had to look good.

It should be the other way: Because my wife looked pretty, that is why I looked smart.

As a groom, I felt that we had to play our part in not just being physically there, but also assuring and giving opinions how our brides looked in different make-up and hairstyle.

Emotionally supporting your wife is very important too.

Alot of times, just mere mentioning that "You do look pretty in this" or "You looked better in that" makes the bridal experience more pleasant.

I remembered I had an email from a bride who asked for my opinion if she should forgo the gown her family members disallowed her to wear. However, it was the same gown her husband chose and that was why she was caught in between.

As much as she wanted to go along with her family's decision, she also wanted to wear something her husband had personally chose for her.

I applauded her for the effort in respecting her husband's choice and it was not a simple choice to be made.

During such times, what you can do is to not feel caught in between is: 1. Thank your husband for even being there during the gown selection. 2. Expalin to her your situation, tell him how you are feeling and you may feel caught in between. 3. Tell him you really would like to wear what he chose. 4. As a couple, explain to the family about the two choices of the gowns. 5. Inform your family that you AND your husband will need to discuss at home and will inform them again of your decision.

Do you realise that the decision is always made in pair? This is the difference. In pair, you are stronger and it is a start to build a strong foundation in your relationship.

To end of this post, I had found more pictures for you on bridal hairstyle.

Wedding Hairstyles: What Looks Best On You

by Wade Robins

There are so many details to consider as you plan your special wedding day. Your wedding dress is one of the most important aspects of your day. It is important to remember that a great wedding dress can be a disaster, if you do not have the proper accessories and hairstyle. You want to look your best on this very special day and you need to find a wedding hairstyle that will suit your facial features and your wedding dress at the same time.

One of the best ways to get ideas about wedding hairstyles is to look through current bridal magazines. These bridal magazines can show you the latest trends in wedding hairstyles and can show you how certain wedding hairstyles look with certain wedding gowns. While one hairstyle may look perfect on a model in the magazine, it may not be right for you. Cut out some pictures of hairstyles that you like, and as you begin to choose your wedding dress, keep this in mind.

Many popular wedding hairstyles are very suitable for your wedding. One of the most popular hairstyles for brides is an up-sweep, or also called an up-do. This type of hairstyle can be a French twist, elaborate braids, a bun or even a low ponytail. Hairstylists often specialize in wedding hairstyles, so if you are looking for a beautiful out due to wear on your wedding day; consult a hairstylist that can help you make your dreams become a reality.

Many brides choose to wear their hair down. If you have short hair, then you may want to consider light curls or wave. Brides with long hair, often looks stunning with flowing curls. If you choose to wear your hair down, you might want to consider pulling part of it back off your face, and using an elaborate hair clip at the back of your head.

However, you decide to wear your hair . You will want to keep the style of your dress in mind. Also, think about the type of headpiece that you will wear on your wedding day. If you are going to wear a long veil or a crown of flowers, then wearing your hair down might be the way to go. Tiaras look fabulous on hair that is pulled back. You might also want to think about the type of jewelry do you wear. If you wear your hair up, you may want to consider getting a more elaborate earring to draw attention to your face. Longer hair that is worn down needs simple earrings and accessories.

Here is something else to think about when choosing wedding hairstyles. It is never a good idea to try out a new haircut right before you get married. This can be disastrous if you hate your new haircut. The same is true for getting your hair colored. This is not the time to try out a completely new hair color. Wait until after you return from your honeymoon to try any new styles.

Wedding Hair & Make-Up Tips

by Rafi Michael

Preparing yourself to look beautiful on your Toronto wedding day doesn't start a few hours before the ceremony. There are several things you can do in advance to help yourself look and feel beautiful on your wedding day:

- Join a gym, or start walking to get some exercise

- Start drinking at least eight glasses of water per day to flush toxins out of your system. Also, water helps you feel full, so you may be inclined to eat less!

- Get a facial every five weeks from now until your Toronto wedding. Skin exfoliation provided by good facials, removes dead skin cells from your face and makes your skin glow.

- Start getting regular manicures and pedicures to help to keep your hands, feet and nails in good condition.

- Book a hairstylist and makeup artist for your wedding day. Be sure to do this a couple of months in advance and go in for a trial run a couple of weeks before the wedding

- Have your haircut and colored two to three weeks before the wedding to avoid the new cut and color look.

The Toronto Wedding Day: Professional or Do-It-Yourself?

If you choose to have a professional do your hair and makeup to look beautiful, this can be a great way to relax and get pampered on your Toronto wedding day. Many professional makeup artists can make your face both camera-ready and natural-looking.

If you choose to have your hair and makeup done at a salon, don't forget to schedule trial appointments at least a week before your wedding. You will want to bring your veil to the trial appointment.

If you want to do your own hair and makeup, here are some general tips:

- Use a foundation close to your natural skin color

- Apply loose powder to your face and neck.

- Line your eyes with a brown pencil.

- Avoid frosted eyeliner or eye shadow. Matte shadows work best in photos.

- Curl your eyelashes and apply brown or black mascara.

- Apply a flattering blush to your cheekbones and blend upwards.

- Line your lips with a pencil and apply lipstick. Five little tricks

- For smooth lips use a toothbrush to exfoliate your lips and remove dry skin.

- To make lipstick last, line lips with a pencil and apply lipstick, then blot with a tissue. Leave the tissue on your lips and with a loose powder puff; press the puff on top of the tissue. Remove the tissue and reapply your lipstick.

- If your eyes are red, eye drops can work, but can be a bit messy. Instead, use a white pencil near the inside of your lower eyelid.

- Buy new mascara. Mascara should be thrown out every three months. What better occasion for a new tube than your wedding day?

- To make blush last the whole day, use a cream blush instead of powder. If you have oily skin, keep that loose powder close by. Cream blush can make you a bit shinier than normal, but it does last longer!

There are a lot of ways to make yourself look beautiful for your Toronto wedding day, so enjoy the moment, because most important stress is a beauty buster!
